MEASURING AND SIZE SELECTION

Children come in many sizes and our sizing chart is just a starting point. You’ll need to determine how tall your daughter is in stocking feet. Have her stand with her back against a wall and make a small pencil mark at the top of her head. You can then use a measuring tape or a ruler to calculate her height. Next you’ll need to know her weight. Have her stand on a scale fully clothed without shoes, and subtract one to two pounds for the clothing. I’ve found that it’s easier to do the match than to undress and redress a reluctant child. When in doubt about a size, remember that children grow very quickly. It’s always better to order a larger size than one that is too small. A larger size will give your child plenty of time to enjoy her special occasion silk party dress. If you need your daughter’s flower girl, first communion or elegant party dress to fit perfectly, plan on having alterations done one month before the grand fête.
